Did You Have Breakfast Today?

Breakfast is the meal that wakes up your body and brain with much needed glucose after a night of not eating. Without breakfast, you'll have trouble concentrating and lower amounts of energy. A good breakfast doesn't have to be pancakes and eggs, plus sausage and bacon, especially if eating first thing in the morning makes you sick.

A good breakfast is a balance of carbohydrates, healthy fats and protein. Whole grain cereal with low fat milk is the perfect example. Need some ideas besides cereal? Try blending yogurt and orange juice with your favorite fruits for a quick smoothie, oatmeal with dried fruit and slivered almonds, a whole wheat bagel with cream cheese and jam, or even leftover veggie pizza will do the trick.

If you normally grab a Pop Tart as you run out the door, try pre-packaged bags of granola, yogurt cups or a piece of fruit and a handful of walnuts. Hard boiled eggs, Powerballs, string cheese and whole wheat crackers, 100% juice boxes and a peanut butter sandwich are other ideas that will get you out the door quickly.

And even though you aren't hungry, you should still eat a healthy breakfast. Once your body gets used to it, you won't be able to live without it!

Grab a Clif or Luna bar for breakfast. Delicious!
