Safe, Effective and Earth Friendly

Check out this non toxic way to scrub the tub. It is an effective and safe recipe!

Add one teaspoon of liquid soap and several drops of an antibacterial essential oil (such as tea tree, eucalyptus, rosemary, or peppermint) to one cup of baking soda. Add just enough water to form a paste, and use it with a sponge or brush to scour bathtub surfaces!

Clogged drain? Try cleaning it out with baking soda. Baking soda in it’s natural form won't necessarily clear a pathway through a clogged drain, but sodium carbonate can. Sodium carbonate is what baking soda turns into after it has been exposed to boiling water. And it is much safer for you and the environment than commercial drain cleaners. Just pour 1 cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by 3 cups of boiling water, and let science take over, all on its own. Still need a fresh scent? Throw a halved lemon down the garbage disposal and run with water 30 minutes after the boiling water goes down.

Thanks Martha!

Have you found a good place for essential oils yet?

One of the grocery stores here in town has a natural section and they sell essential oils. Whole Foods also sells them, but that has been about all I have been able to find.
