Success!

On Monday night, had taco/burritos for dinner. They consisted of:
-Homemade Spanish Rice, with tomatoes from the garden
-Homemade tortillas
-Homemade salsa (with produce from the garden!)
-Free range, grass fed beef
-Homemade guacamole, made with American avocados

And I didn't even have the day off of work! Okay, now that sounds a little ambitious and I have to admit, the only things I made actually "made" after work that day was the guacamole and cooked the beef. Everything else was made over the weekend. But I was so happy that everything was so fresh, organic and safe to feed my growing family (no artificial flavors, GMO's or food dye!), that I couldn't help sharing our success with you.

Now it's your turn.

Where have you been successful? Have you started doing "Perfect Pushups"? Are you pulling your belly button in during the day to strengthen your core? Standing up straight to consistently increase your breathing? Reading PLU's at the grocery store or avoiding GMO's? Celebrate your success, no matter how big or small, here in the comments section and you could win a personal training prize pack (with workouts designed just for you, in whatever state of fitness you are in!).

No replies will be accepted after Sunday night, at 11:59. Get your success story out there-let's celebrate together!

Well, we have had lots of success too! I have been trying to do a TV workout at least 3 times a week (hold me to it Kelley :) Orson only drinks hormone free milk and we have decided to try and start buying all of our dairy that way (Whole Foods here we come). And we added a fruit and flower box to our CSA so that the fruit we buy is organic and local as well as the veggies. We have had to cut some corners in other areas but this has become really important to me. Thanks for inspiring us all to get a little more healthy.

we watch what we buy from the "dirty dozen" and check the PLUs for GMO produce (oddly enough, I haven't found any GMO stuff in my grocery store! -nice!).

we have been trying to make bread or buy the "heathiest" bread we can find.

we are also obsessed with EWGs "skin deep" for checking our daily care products for their ratings. i have changed over to organic/natural shampoo, lotion, hand soap, shower gel, and deodorant!

In the last year I have really embraced my husband's desire to avoid trans-fat. We are a completely trans-fat free zone here!
I am in the process of learning to bake my own breads more consistently as well, but that is a success-in-progress.

I love this idea! I've enjoyed reading the successes of your other readers! For me this past year has really been a year of changes and successes! I started making my own face wash, shampoo & conditioner, toothpaste, deodorant, yogurt, switched from chemical-laden cleaning supplies to cleaning with vinegar, using homemade weedkiller.
