The most sugar rich beer: Sierra Nevada Bigfoot. It has 330 calories, 32.1 g carbohydrates and is 9.6% alcohol. Just to compare, a good old Budweiser has 10.6 grams of carbs. It is the carbohydrate equivalent of a 12-pack of Michelob Ultra! Again, this is no big deal if you know that what you are consuming has double the calories of another kind of beer.
-Ever participate in the energy drink craze for a quick pick-me-up (with an even faster crash)? Rockstar Energy Drink has 280 calories and 62 grams of sugar. If this pick-me-up is pretty important to your day, try 6 of the Krispy Kreme Origional glazed doughnuts that it is equivilant to instead. At least then you get the satisfaction of eating doughnuts!
-Love Red Lobster? Their Lobsterita (all 24 ounces of it) has 890 calories and is the carbohydrate equivilant of 7 Almond Joy candy bars. Seven candy bars!! It would only take 4 of these to gain the 3,500 calories in one extra pound, and one by itself is enough to send you into a diabetic sugar coma.
Eating and drinking are enjoyable parts of our daily habits and routines. Sometimes we just need to read a label to find out if it really is worth it to eat the "special stuff"! For more information, check out the full list.
